CHARLOTTE — Special priedieus, or kneelers, that will be given to the two men being ordained priests for the Diocese of Charlotte this year are currently on tour around the diocese, enabling the faithful to pray for the men and sign journals conveying their well-wishes.
The kneelers are commissioned each year for the ordinands by the lay apostolate Mary’s Sons.
Transitional Deacons Jacob Mlakar and Jonathan Torres will be ordained to the priesthood at St. Mark Church in Huntersville on Sat., June 20.
Parishes hosting the kneelers include:
- Feb.10- 17: Pennybyrn Retirement Community in Greensboro
- Feb. 17- 24: St. John Neuman in Charlotte
- Feb. 24 - March 2: St. Mary Church in Greensboro
- March 2 - March 9: St Thomas Aquinas in Charlotte
- March 9 - 16: St. Michael Church in Gastonia
- March 16 - 20: St. Ann Church in Charlotte
- March 23 - 30: St. Matthew Church in Charlotte
