St. Matthew to sponsor food drive July 1-14

CHARLOTTE — St. Matthew Church in south Charlotte hopes to collect 160,000 pounds of food and provide 3,000 hours of volunteer service in its annual World Food Drive this July.

The church will be collecting non-perishable food items and monetary donations and will host a Stop Hunger Now meal-packaging event on Saturday, July 14, in the Parish Center gym with a goal to surpass the 285,000-plus meals made last year.
