GALLERY: Tour of the Vatican Necropolis

051412-roux-eckert thumbVATICAN CITY — The pilgrims in Rome took a tour May 11 of the Vatican Necropolis, also known as the Scavi, underneath Vatican City. Lying below St. Peter's Basilica, the Scavi contains the burial chambers of many popes along with the ancient burial place of St. Peter himself. For more information, check out:
