In last week’s Catholic News Herald (Sept. 4, page 3), Pope Leo XIV urges the faithful to be “attentive to the signs of the times,” to address present issues of our time. He goes on to tell us that we cannot be unengaged spectators. Christ is “the key, the focal point and the goal of all human history.”
This is similar to St. Paul encouraging the Corinthians to “run the race” (1 Cor 9:24-27). Christ should be the center of our lives, so we can “win the prize,” which is Christ.
And hopefully, we will engage, “run the race,” and “win the prize,” joining Him with the Father in heaven for eternity.
