HUNTERSVILLE — Christ the King High School was named the 2024–2025 Wells Fargo Cup Champion for the 1A classification, which is the highest honor for overall athletic excellence in North Carolina.
Since 1979, the State Cup has been awarded to the schools with the best overall interscholastic sports programs in each classification. Points are awarded for all sanctioned sports based on how the team places in State Cup competition, N.C. High School Athletic Association playoffs and championships, and then tallied to determine the winner.
The honor was a first for CTK.
“This achievement reflects the hard work, discipline and spirit of student-athletes, coaches and families across all varsity sports,” the school posted. “It’s a testament to a program that doesn’t just build teams — it builds character, leadership and a lasting legacy.”
