SPRUCE PINE — Members of St. Lucien Church in Spruce Pine and its mission St. Bernadette in Linville took their devotion to the Blessed Mother to downtown streets for a candlelight rosary walk organized by Jacquelyne Hinshaw.
Father Christopher Bond, pastor, joined 23 other people for the walk that included kneeling to pray the rosary together.
The group prayed together before the walk and Father Bond blessed monthly rosary organizer Laurie Wind’s vintage statue of Mary.
This was the parish’s second rosary walk and part of a larger outreach that includes parishioners meeting monthly at someone’s home to share a meal and pray the rosary.
